[08.25.2009]Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Nujabes]
Author: montrey
This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We will try to bring you at least one a day. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…..
Today’s delivery is brought to you by Nujabes. Jun Seba is his real name and his alias is an anagram of his real name but with his first and last name spelled backwards and combined. Pretty slick ya? He hails from Japan and he has been making sick hip-hop/jazzy beats for quite a while now. I got turned on to him because of watching Samurai Champloo and also because of his work with CYNE. The song i’m bring from him today is called “Another Reflection” and its off his Hydeout Productions 2nd Collection album. This song has so many layers its kinda nuts and it even sounds like there might be some subtle steel drum usage…dunno. The piano usage in this song is amazing. The piano was first introduced to the world in the year 24 BC by a fellow that went by the name of J.J. He hailed from what used to be ancient Mesopotamia. Actually I have no idea and I just made that up but the piano in this song is sick. Check out the song below and just relax…
