[09.13.2009]Deadmau5 – Ghosts N’ Stuff [vocal] remix (Ft. Robert Swire)
Author: Fab-2tha-Rizio
There is only one Dj/producer that could maintain composure with a ginormous red mouse helmet on his head while spinning at the controls. There is only one performer from the Dj world that would extinguish the thoughts of, “Well I wonder if my $40 USD is going to be worth seeing a man perform in costume?” We’re talking about an energetic and creative talent from Ontario, Canada that can go into any venue and make sure everyone is on the dance floor when he takes the controls.
Joel Zimmerman’s appropriate Dj tag is Deadmau5, pronounced dead-mouse. I always have my skepticism like most, “A giant mouse head? Really, that should be a good Dj set, not.” I first went to see Deadmau5 with some friends, and it was worth every minute of driving down to Atlanta for the 4 hours there and back while trapped in that little biddy Jetta with 4 people. The second time I saw the Mau5 was here in the “Music-city” capital-Nashville and I took 4 newcomers out with me, HOOKED! I started to notice my newbie friends editing their Youtube playlist and Pandora stations to Deadmau5.
You can’t really ever have the full effect of electronic music until you actually go to a show. Dj’s save their best sets for the shows, for the nomadic house/electro enthusiasts that want to experience every bit of what 9p.m. – 6 a.m. truly means. In this posting we have fresh little remix of DeadMau5’s track: Ghost’s N’ Stuff released Halloween 2008, but this version has added vocals to the mix by Robert Swire freshly released this September. The video is for shits n’ giggles and the lyrics aren’t too shabby either, I mean the lyrics are not the main point of the song it’s that gritty beat created from DeadMau5’s –Ableton Lives’ production boards. Although, there are some that still like the instrumental version way better. Also added are more Deadmau5 tracks posted below and a set to enjoy if you need a fix. This set is somewhat of a mash-up to most people but however you call it- Enjoy da Mau5..

Pete Tong & Deadmau5 – Essential Mix Live From The Warehouse Project, Manchester 11-10-2008

I can’t believe I’m going to miss another one of his shows!
So true… no one can resist the Mau5. well, no one that I’ve met. And this Rob swire guy totally re-freshes this track.. as if it even needed it
Reasons why DEADMAU5 will always rock my ass:
1.) Well played theatrics are missing from 90% of today’s music. Some try and miss the mark. but Deadmau5 does it and does it right. Not just the get-up, but the music sets the listener into another place and time. And its always a better place and time.
2.) These beats will knock the dust off the oldest of dancing shoes. I mean, you can’t possibly listen to this stuff and not move wit it. (yeah, I meant to spell that as “wit”)
Great post. Thanks Sugar-muffin.

At first I didn’t like this version at all but it really grew on me the more and more I listened to it. As for his live shows they are amazing! I was the driver in the Jetta with 4 people to ATL and it was quite a ride but well worth it! I wasn’t too familiar with many of his songs at the time but I was hooked after that show and instantly became a fan. I’m bringing a few people with me to his upcoming show in Nashville that have never really heard him; I’m looking forward to seeing how they react. I just wish I could get out to the Hard Haunted Mansion show on Halloween in L.A., that would be sick!
Sorry, but I still feel that it’s on of those generic commercial house kind of lyrics. The original is quite good though.
mammoth said is perfectly. hope to get my ticket for the guvernemnt toronto before dey are all out
can’t believe I’m going to miss another one of his shows!
