[10.24.2009]Weezer – Can’t Stop Partying (ft. Lil Wayne) + Weezyer (Weezer vs. Weezy Mashup ALBUM!)
Author: jsully
That’s right, Weezy and Weezer. Together on the band’s track “Can’t Stop Partying.” On the band’s new album, “Raditude” out October 27th, frontman Rivers Cuomo wanted to try his hand at some different genres, including R&B. For the transformation, Cuomo hooked up with producer Jermaine Dupri for “Partying.”
“It was a real challenge for me, taking his ideas, which are very slick, R&B party [ideas], and giving it some kind of edge, some darkness, making it work with rock, making it work with Weezer,”
To add to the authenticity, Weezer next recruited Lil Wayne. My mind is fucking blown right now. I’m not sure what to think really. I loves me some old school Weezer. And Lil Wayne does his own thing in his own right. So there’s that.
While researching, I found something all you mash up fans might get into. An album by Mole Star called “Weezyer” that is a complete mash up of different Weezer and Weezy songs. I was amazed. It’s pretty damn good too. I’m posting all the tracks.
Enjoy.
