Yppah - "D. Song"
01.14.2012 Q-Tip

Pronounced "Yippah", Yppah, a.k.a. Joe Corrales Jr., signed to Ninja Tune records, hooks us up with "D. Song" off of his forthcoming album Eighty One. The song opens with the gaining of an eery female voice, which eventually disseminates out across the atmosphere of sound that unfolds before you. But, don't be fooled, the same yearning voice comes back for more, intermittently popping up throughout the rest of the song. It's this type of spacey, ambient music, that really draws on raw emotion. The music is very visceral, and draws from deep within the listener, making it a very subjective type of sensation. If this is what we can expect from the rest of Eighty One, we're in for a very nice treat. The album drops March 19th in the UK and April 3rd in North America.
