Jack White - "Sixteen Saltines"
03.21.2012 Phillip Yung

Jack White is back with an imminent solo album, Blunderbuss, ready to bust through this spring. Recently, he has released a new single from the album, "Sixteen Saltines." Jack White  has been pretty busy with all of his bands throughout the years, such as The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather. It was only a matter of time before he started to focus on his solo game.

"Sixteen Saltines" does not fail to please anyone who has been following him over the years. The tune instantly pulls you in with a heavy yet simple guitar riff, reminiscent of some of the songs he composed while he was in The White Stripes. Your trip down memory lane is only strengthened with his falsetto and the garage-band style drumming. But what sets it apart from being a White Stripes song is his use of some electronics, modifying his guitar sound at certain points of the song.

Being a big Jack White fan, I have certain expectations for Blunderbuss. And so far, "Sixteen Saltines" has reached them. Keep on rockin'.
