ColeCo - El Verano [EP]
06.25.2012 Mike Kniazeff

Perfect timing is what the newest release from rising Nu-Disco, Toronto, producers ColeCo are sitting on. The newest and highly anticipated El Verano EP is out and baby it's everything we're looking for.

Coming right out of their Miami Music Week tour, ColeCo has busted out of the gates with a very fresh four-track EP and I can think of no better way of spending a nice hot day than with a couple of these jams. Samples from across the 80s and 90s are slathered throughout, including classics from AaliyahBrandy, and Mariah with a modern spin.

A favorite being the very seducing melodic Aaliyah remix of "Rock The Boat", which is just what I was hoping for from the duo. Kind of a tip of the hat to all the big name Toronto R&B acts I don't really need to mention and another re-do in Ricky Smiley make this EP a must have for this summer's playlist.
