Less than a month ago, Cry Wolf unleashed a sonorous remix of The Knife‘s “You Make Me Like Charity”. Today, the North Carolina based wolf pack are returning with a remix of another much favored experimental artist, Múm. Múm’s track titled “The Ballad of Broken Birdie Records” is a serene instrumental with gentle touches of atmospheric glows but Cry Wolf recreated all of that in their notorious electronic manner. The boys began the mix with synthesized voices, then a quiet piano melody creeping into the background as an eerie child-like harmony serenades to the later beat distortions. Cry Wolf has transformed “The Ballad of Broken Birdie Records” to a haunting dance lullaby and much like a “dreamscape”. Since we are premiering this track, that means you have first dibs on the first listen and the ability of hearting this on hype machine. Go ahead and do away.
“The Ballad of Broken Birdie Records” is the fifth release of their Volume 2 Remix EP. Stay in tune for the rest to follow!
