A Quick Word from the Author:
If there are any ambitious students out there looking for a fun, non-paying internship this fall/winter, drop me an email— please be honest with yourself though, because I need someone who is diligent, in-tune with the “Indie Scene,” and who is honestly doing this for the opportunity rather than just for the fun factor. Essentially, I’m looking for someone to help me make the Sabbath a weekly feature for about 2/3 months. I’m pretty fussed with a handful of nagging— but priorities nonetheless— occupational errands that I’ll be doing for the next two months, so more often than not the Sabbath will be bi-weekly. This is no terrible thing, but the Sabbath hasn’t been weekly for a while and I’d love to make this happen, both for you and for myself.
I had to make this week a bit brief, so it’s not as “Fancy” as the others, but it still gets the job done.
Highlights on Conner Youngblood for the album of the week with his sophomore record Sketches pt. 2— full review Monday on Straight From The Teet. Also, this week is more of a compilation of the past few weeks, so enjoy the tunes— If you don’t have time to sift through them all, just download them.
They’re certified fresh.

Upon this day, I declare that Indie music is leaps and bounds more pure than anything else, and the term “Indie” means not that a band isn’t mainstream, but that a band has been able to hold on to its roots, even through fame and fortune. While the wonderful thumps and womps of other genres get me grooving, it will always be the sui generis of Indie that guides me to the homeland. And for that — I both thank it and applaud it — for it has brought me great pleasure in the past and will so in the future.
