Trust - "Dressed for Space" [Video]
09.13.2012 Alyce Currier

Trust's LP, TRST, which came out in February on Arts and Crafts, remains one of my favorite albums of the year so far. Every time I think I'm sick of it, someone spins a Trust track at the club and I'm won all over again. The Toronto alter ego of Robert Alfons (featuring Maya Postepski of Austra fame on the album) creates danceable tracks with a dark post-punk vibe that's difficult to resist.

Today Trust premiered the official video for one of my favorite tracks off the album, "Dressed for Space", via Pitchfork TV. Rather than following the dark or spacey aesthetic that we might have anticipated, the video is a seizure-inducing, nostalgia-imbued neon flash with choreographed dancing. My only complaint is that no one actually seems to be dressed for space.
