Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Nosaj Thing]

3 years ago written by

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Nosaj Thing. The Los Angeles-based producer last saw a full-length release in 2009 with the beautiful Drift, and with a second LP in the works, he’s out to prove that he still has the ethereal and textural down to a science. The first single off his forthcoming LP, Home, which will be released in 2013,  is “Eclipse/Blue”, a simple track released October 2 that manages to employ layer upon layer of moody emotion. The washed-out, spooky vocals over Jason Chung’s production come from Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead fame. Overall, this track brings a more organic, less glitchy feel for Nosaj Thing, with a track that, despite clear electronic roots, feels almost analog.
