Certified Trap 2 [Documentary + Mixtape]
02.01.2013 Lindsay Herr

A few months ago LiveMixTapes linked up with Mad Decent to bring us the first installment of the Certified Trap documentary series. The first episode traced the stylistically underpinnings of trap music from it’s southern roots to the new sound embraced by dance’s, music-forward youth. It also featured guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Flosstradamus, Wake Flocka, Drumma Boy and a bunch more.  With the intention of educating the masses on the newly formed relationship between trap-rap and dance music they now bring us the second edition.

This time they teamed up with the good folks over at Moodswing, Young & Reckless and Clubtapes.com. The brains behind the initiative have one mission in mind: that is, to further bridge the gap between the two different genres and cultures. As a result Episode 2 recounts the last few months of developments for this blossoming relationship. The documentary features interviews and exclusive content from Luminox, UZTrap-A-Holics, Trinidad James, League of Starz, The Interns, Willy Joy and more.

To accompany the project they also released an official soundtrack, hosted by Trap-A-Holics the first time around. The soundtrack features exclusive never-before-heard music from the hottest up-and-coming and established trap artists including veterans 12th Planet & AC Slater, DJ Carnage, K.E on the Track, and Thugi as well as some seriously talented newcomers, Austin Millz, Mystress, Huglife, and more. With 35 tracks on deck, the album is most certainly certified. Now turn up and bump this real loud.
