In what might be the understatement of the year on this site, we at EARMILK each hold a dangerous passion for music. It could probably be said that in our eyes, a music producer is relatively high on the list of the coolest jobs out there, besides working for awesome websites like this one (of course). However, rising Russian artist 813 may have just topped the list by maintaining a day job saving lives as a fireman and being a master music-maker at night.
When he’s not out being a real-life Superman, 813 is making some of the coolest music to come out of Moscow. Gaining attention from the likes of Fool’s Gold Records in their Clubhouse Vol. 3 last year, along with various other prominent labels, he’s now ready to take the scene by storm with Espoir Voyage, the first release from Apothecary Compositions.
The title track of the EP, features a perfect balance of club-banger and melodic ambiance, culminating in an unique balance of emotion and party anthem. Beyond “Espoir Voyage”, all three of his original creations are sure to gain attention from critics, fellow producers, and listeners from all around. His days as a fireman may be numbered, as his schedule is sure to become busier in the days ahead.
This EP comes out on August 12th and also features amazing remixes from DZA, Lil TExAS, and Obey City. Vinyl preorders are available now on Bandcamp, and clips for the rest of the EP can be heard via Soundcloud.
