Up and coming producer Mista Marcel released his new track “Wilin’” in a DJ set for Moomba+, performed online Saturday night. The track will be featured on “The New Wave of Moombahton Vol. 5,” which is a joint effort with Moombroton to compile the “hungriest, filthiest, unknown, and underrated producers” for a compilation of the genre’s new wave. Moomba+ site is a record label and radio station for all things moombahton, and is geared towards the relatively new genre’s avid fan base, referred to in their blog as “moombahcats.” True moombahnistas know a serious producer when they hear one, and Mista Marcel certainly turns up the heat. In “Wilin’” he blends a hip swiveling, slow and sexy reggaeton pulse with meaty bass lines and rapid drum fills. Dramatic build-ups carry the track, inducing the wild, sinful atmosphere and two-step dance moves that Mista Marcel wrote it for. Because after all, this Latin and EDM fusion premiered at parties, and while he is “of the moment” Marcel still pays his respects.
