When Pittsburgh spitter Devin Miles drops a hot 16, everyone should pause and pay attention. Teaming up with long time collaborators Ric & Thadeus, "Check, Please" is the track that makes us feel like Phil Connors in Punxsutawney. But unlike the Bill Murray character from Groundhog Day, this time loop is akin to a breezy-state-of-bliss on a Sunday afternoon. While the instrumental is fantastic in its own regard, the main attraction is Miles' chameleon-like flow and how adaptable his approach is when it comes to writing lyrics, this time reflecting on his personal life and the crew he's come to form over the years.
Miles has been on the come up for quite some time, dropping his In Due Time EP earlier this year while earning praise for his efforts in the process."Check, Please" is the fourth part of #MrMilesMondays, a great series so far that showcases Miles' versatility behind the mic (be sure to check out the previous editions for more dope music.)
