British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has been on the rise again since he appeared as the deliciously soulful vocals on Disclosure's hit single "Latch." More recently Smith joined Disclosure for “Together,” the collaborative track which also features legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers as well as “Latch” songwriter/producer Jimmy Napes. “Money On My Mind” comes as the second track to be released ahead of Smith’s debut full length In The Lonely Hour. It’s a sleek and sophisticated track about how Sam Smith doesn’t do it for money, but rather for the love.
House producer MK, LA’s Marc Kinchen, is notorious for cranking out some top-notch remixes. Emphasizing Sam Smith’s sweet voice, MK cranks up the danceability with a deep house makeover complete with thumping bass and those disco keys we all love so much. MK’s remix appears on the Money On My Mind EP with the original mix and alongside remixes from LA producer Le Youth and Vienna’s salute. Look for the full package on February 16th from Capitol Records.
