AnD – Kundalini [EP]

Crafting an unyielding sound that coddles a vicious tone of techno undertakings, Manchester duo AnD manage to steadily release record after record that you can count on finding at techno warehouse face-offs. With a notable running catalog of label releases for Black Sun, Ann Aimee, Horizontal Ground, and even their own AnD imprint – they now take part as brand new members of the Electric Deluxe family with their most recent release, Kundalini. Composed of 5 stirring tracks that land themselves all in opposing crossings of the techno spectrum, there's a lot going on in here that definitely works towards a sensational unconscious awakening.

Stopping at nothing, "The Jellyfish" welcomes us aboard this thrusting joy ride with hammering kicks that drive the track from start to finish in pure AnD fashion. As the elemental arrangement comes together in climax towards the song's last run through, the rough nature will get your chakra thumping. "Dtatdtmat" follows with chromatic palpitations that feel like a microscopic apocalyptic journey through morose analog wires.

Reaching "DTR", the pace downshifts and its setting darkens with epic sounds that purge themselves from anything customary. Delving forth into an unhurried state of concentration, the machine-like jangle that works itself into a mantra engulfs the listener evermore. With "Dysekt" and "IdCyBc" we pop right back into the accelerated and equally mesmeric  nature of the duos musical culture. Full of close detailed sound layers that range from lo's to high's, there's plenty that'll get your stomach churning until the close. Make sure you pick up your 12" copy while they're available!
