[03.07.2010]Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Gorillaz]

Author: montrey

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We will try to bring you at least one a day. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…..

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Gorillaz. Considering the fact that the this is about the time that the new Gorillaz album is dropping; i figured it would be fitting to pick a track from that album. The track i’m bringing to you today is called “Broken” which is of course off the album Plastic Beach. The album itself is already receiving mostly positive reviews and we here on Earmilk love the album and this track stood out to me and not just because its a little chiller than the rest but this song in particular seemed to draw massive amounts of imagery in my mind that others did not. Maybe it’s just me but regardless..check out the track and relax….

Today’s delivery is brought to you by the Scottish duo known as Boards of Canada. I think I’ve introduced these guys enough on here to go ahead and skip it this time. The track i’m bringing to you today is called “Twoism” and it’s from their album by the same name, Twoism, which takes you all the way back to 1995. If you aren’t familiar with these guys then I definitely want you to give this track ample time because you might not appreciate it right from the beginning but once it gets going you’re gonna love it. This track may be best for headphones or a pretty good sound system because its got some very nice ambient noise that is very layered. So listen to the track and chill…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by the downtempo/ambient group known as Boards of Canada. I got into these guys about the same time I got into Thievery Corporation and a few other similar groups. Groups like this are perfect to chill out too when you are driving through the city late night or maybe driving along the coast with the wind in your hair or just maybe chillin in your home and letting the day ooze away from your memory. The track i’m bringing to you today is from their 2002 album entitled Geogaddi and the track is called “Music is Math”. Check out the track and just relax…
