[03.01.2010]Adrian Younge & The Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra – Shot Me In The Heart [video]

Author: JAHN DOUGH

Adrian Younge, the composer and arranger for Black Dynamite, the hilarious comedy that dropped last year from Michael Jai White and Scott Sanders, has finally put some visuals up for the track “Shot Me In The Heart”. Black Dynamite is probably the most authentic rendition of a 70’s blaxploitation film I’ve seen and yes, the music you are hearing throughout the movie are original compositions by Younge, save for some of the segways which is handpicked british library music. The classic sound of the music makes the film that much more genuine. Anywho, if you loved the movie you’ll probably enjoy the visuals just as much being that the blaxploitation/soul theme is reiterated. More after the jump…

[10.12.2009]New Moon Soundtrack Leaked Amazingness

Author: itstk

sexy vampire bitches

For all you vampire tweeners out there.. the release of this soundtrack gets you giggling in excitement cause you’re one step closer to drowning yourself in a cesspool of vampires and love. However, this soundtrack is surprisingly pretty amazing. The New Moon Soundtrack features artists such as Lykke Li, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse.. and that’s only a few, all doing tracks exclusively for the movie.  I can only imagine how awful this movie is going to be, but with a soundtrack like this I’m willing to go and watch it with my eyes closed.  The album itself is actually set to be released October 20th, as for the movie.. its due in theaters November 20th.  I have still yet to see Twilight, so if I’m missing anything please give me a heads up but other then that I included a bunch of tracks off the anticipated soundtrack below, so check em out and enjoy:

[09.29.2009]Paul Kalkbrenner- Sky and Sand (ft. Movie: Berlin Calling)

Author: Fab-2tha-Rizio

Mka7

Paul Kalkbrenner is a minimal Dj from the far reaches of Deutsch land – Germany. You see he’s got this film that he stars in, Berlin Calling (posted below). This 2008 film stars Paul Kalkbrenner as Dj Ickarus who is visiting Berlin for his album release tour of different clubs and festivals the usual life of a Dj. The night of his new album release after performing at a show, Dj Ickarus is put up into an emergency ward of a psychiatric clinic for basically abusing too many drug paraphernalia. During the course of the movie Dj Ickarus becomes estranged with his girlfriend and heads down the winding, spiral, of a rabbit hole.

I haven’t personally been able to view this movie yet, and I haven’t seen it on Amazon.com for sale. If anything I’m pretty sure I can compare it to It’s All Gone Pete Tong, the story of fictional Dj character Frankie Wilde. Dj Frankie Wilde becomes deaf during the course of his Dj career and becomes this awry character that still manages to produce talented electronic music.  Oh the lives of cracked-out eccentric Djs , “Pick Me ! Pick ME!”  meh.  Hopefully one day I’ll be able to sniff crack off strippers’ hygienic rumps just like Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser) in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.

This post mostly is to give you some great tracks that you may also use to add to your life soundtrack in your various travels n’such.  Sky and Sand- Paul Kalkbrenner  (ft. Fritz Kalkbrenner), is a must have vocal for any nostalgic moment that you may want to refer  back to in your life. This track did not garnish enough publicity as I think it should but you are the judge! Next up are all instrumentals and club bangers  with Square 1, Queer Fellow, and the jazz synth track Atzepeng.  The next two tracks are Kalkbrenners’ hits proving his Uber-electronic sounds with Gebrunn Gebrunn, Azure , and one special edit of Mango (orig. Sascha Funke) to boot.  Square 1 is a personal favorite, Queer Fellow is more of an instrumental that has influences of a scattered, syncopated BT track or a Telefon Tel Aviv production. If you enjoyed those little jazz numbers from Austin Powers’ movies then you should appreciate the track Atzepeng about middle of the song, like most house music, Kalkbrenner blends in a jazzy synth to the vibe.

[07.31.2009]Daft Punk – Tron Legacy Theme [SORT OF]

Author: electblake

Daft Punk - Tron Legacy

So, if you haven’t heard Daft Punk are involved with the upcoming “Tron Legacy” film (the sequel to the original, which leads me to believe I need to rewatch it), and they are also producing the OST for the film, which is a VERY good sign :)

This is their second involvement with a film, and taking on something as classic and cult as Tron seems all too fitting. The theme song has been up for abit of debate in terms of source and who’s done what, and I believe that its concluded. The official theme song isn’t out yet but a Cryda Luv rework has been released.

I’m not sure where Cryda got access to a high quality version of the theme, but its obvious that their rework is different then what was played at ComicCon.

and now without further adue, take a peak at the future of electro cult.
