A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn’t care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole.

This weekend took a lot out of me after following some friends down the rabbit hole this Friday. But I managed to scrape myself together toss myself into a cab, and a full 40 hours later, I’m back on the horse pushing the good stuff to you guys.

Today I have some new Crookers, Parallels, Surkin and some then some SS favs like Dirty Disco Youth, and The Bloody Beetroots. Be sure to checkout the Deathface dubstep remix of Drop The Lime’s Devil’s Eyes – nobody will be outdone by Deathface on this one.

Damon Albarn has taken fans many places on his almost twenty years of musicianship.  I can also say that as a musician myself, he frustrates me to no end, because I can hardly begin to imagine how a person can possess the same amount of creativity and direction he does.  From Blur to “The Good, The Bad, and The Queen”, and his solo work, Albarn likes to switch up his musical and conceptual direction, and the project, Gorillaz, might be the single most important part of his career in that respect.  But this isn’t about that, it’s about the newest release under the Gorillaz name, “Plastic Beach”.

The Kitsune signed, London (UK) duo autoKratz are back and they are going to leave you gasping as they put the machine in “Skin Machine” – the first track out from their forthcoming EP.

We covered their LP debut ‘Animal’ mid-last year and its about time they wave the flames of that one. Can’t Get Enough as well as a bunch of their other tracks seemed to strike a vein with amateurs and pros alike. Be sure to checkout the autoKratz tag here on earmilk for the backstory.

The LP itself was solid from start to finish and really captures a great blend of pop, synth, and UK electro. Should have gotten more coverage but it seems you gotta hit a car commercial or the opening scene of a hip young adult film to break through.

So take this new track and the others and spread ‘em a bad comb-over.

Here we (earmilk.com) come across so many tracks and well – it’s hard to come up with meaningful postings for every single track we get. In the interest of full disclosure and in the hopes of supporting those who have taken the time to support us – Here is your grab bag, straight from the teet.

This weeks grab bag comes in the flavour of damn fine vocal mixes – which is at the core of electro if you ask me. Whenever someone asks me “what is electro” I always bring up the remix culture that spawned it. Tepr’s remix of Yelle helped set a stage and mobilize a indie remix culture that grew more aggressive until finally Justice gang bangs la mainstream and all of the college kids caught wind of it.

The xx came through Toronto this week and got a chance to sit down with the home-team AUX TV and talk about their “universally adored” debut album xx.

Miike Snow who officially formed in 2007 and later made a spash (in a big way) in 2009 with their self titled debut album “Miike Snow” – which in my books, is the #1 break-out album of the year.

This Sweedish band finds its beginning in the duo of Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg who as producers and songwriters garnered some major success under the monikor “Bloodshy & Avant” working with artists such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Kelis and even won a fucking Grammy for Best dance recording for the track “Toxic” by Britney Spears (who the fuck knew)

Their blend of pop and widely acceptable sonic accompaniment has Miike Snow (by this bloggers opinion) capturing a juicy mouthful of the crowd craving more MGMT – only time will tell I guess.

They started their first UK headline tour this month (January) 2010 and look to be coming through North America later this year.
