In 2009, EARMILK came into the industry as a music discovery site and we continue to have that presence in the blogosphere, because there's still a real demand for the alternative, the edgy and the rising artists who really live the music. Sistine Criminals are one of those, who originally had quite a cult following in the Danger Scene (if anyone remembers that), which was the equivalent to what BangOn is now, just maybe a little edgier.
But the live electronic duo has taken on a completely new sound in the past year, transferring from live drum n' bass to Detroit throwback (and modern) tech house with a on stage instrumentation and production spin. Outside of Sistine Criminals both members play on well-known projects, Aaron Burnett on saxophone in various jazz projects and guest appearances with The Golden Pony and Greg Sgrulloni as the drummer for festival favorite (and offshoot of the Disco Biscuits) Conspirator.
So if you're an NYC resident and in the mood for something unique and different check out their event at Brooklyn venue The Graham tomorrow and get a preview of their sound below.
