Author: jsully

Bibio

Warp artist Bibio will be releasing a new EP titled “The Apple and The Tooth“. For those of you who knows whats up, Bibio is just straight up the shit. I can’t even count how many times I’ve posted up his tracks on here, and its looking like that ain’t gonna stop. His last album, Ambivalence Avenue absolutely dominated every rabid Warp fans life, especially mine. As well as 4 new unheard Bibio tracks, the album will feature remixes by Clark, Wax Stag, Eskmo, Lone and others.

As well as on CD and digital, ‘The Apple and the Tooth’ also comes in a super luxe, high end strictly limited 12” in a gold foil embellished sleeve, limited to 1000 worldwide & 150 in the UK. So if you collect records or into Warp artists, especially Bibio, that’s an awesome buy.

Here is a small sample of you can grip from the new EP, I’m sure everyone will dig it. I’ll post up some tracks as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Enjoy.

[08.09.2009]Suicide Sundaes – Week 1

Suicide Sundae 2

Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake and jsully of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn’t care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole.

As this is our first week we wanted to take this opportunity to pay homage to the great sunday feature of our time – Palms Out Sounds’ Remix Sunday.

Palms Out has been a staple in the music blog culture since there was a culture and is not doubt a major influence on earmilk and all the editors/contributors here. Late last year, “Google, the IFPI & the RIAA begun a campaign against all the music blogs hosted on blogger.com – especially high profile blogs, like Palms Out.” and as such started deleting posts without warning even though Palms Out has expressed permission from artists covered weak week – We want to pay them respect by lighting a new fire on sundays…read the full post about it here

In this inaugural and resurrecting post we bring you some of the favourites of the holy years of Electro like Diplo, The Bloody Beetroots, Dom Rimini, Justice as well as some soon to be big boys (and girls) on the scene (autoKratz, and more). So shutup, plug in your studio speakers, and bounce.

[06.24.2009]Bibio – Ambivilance Avenue

Author: jsully

Bibio

The new album by Bibio, Ambivilance Avenue dropped on June 22nd, and it’s so good to hear his music again. This new album takes his sound quality and voicings to a new level  that will make new Bibio listeners go back into his discography.

It has a very weird feel, thats gives a sense of something old. At some points I feel like I might be listening to an updated version of The Mama’s and the Papa’s, especially on “Abrasion”. Then all of a sudden I think I’m listening to Daft Punk or Justice. It also has somewhat of an IDM feel that I think electronica listeners of all walks will appreciate.

I would download the tracks, give them a listen and chill a little bit. By the way and just for the record, this album sounds absolutely amazing on a good set of headphones. So if you got em’, you know what to do.
