Speaking of Coodie & Chike, the directing duo recently linked up with a rising Nuyorican MC that you might recognize. You may remember him as “Brooklyn” from 2006’s “ATL”, but I bet a lot of you didnt know that Albert “Al Be Back” Daniels was also a rapper, poet, writer, director and producer. Talk about polymath? Remember that track “Good Night” off of Kanye West’s Graduation album? Yeah…the featuring guy is him. How could any of us forget Big Pun? Well, this is his little cousin (not even kidding). I see how a person like him would be involved with the arts so much. The unique thing about this track is the style in which he is going over the beat; moreso spoken word than rapping. I think we can expect a lot more from dude being that he’s already grabbed the attention of so many.

Directors and Creative Control founders Coodie & Chike linked up with Curren$y and Stalley to shoot the video for this collaborative song. Very nice visuals, but what else would you expect from the beautiful and chill atmosphere that is Jamaica. Im assuming this video was probably done around the same time “Breakfast” was shot. For those of you sitting in a cubicle right now, if closing your eyes and drifting off into LA LA Land isnt cutting it this time, then maybe this video will help you reach the kind of escapism you’re looking for. WoW! that all I got to say is about this track, Creative Control let loose a video that has a preview of  a Mos Def track that is being produced by Ski Beatz, who is know for his work on Jay-Z “Reasonable Doubt” album. Contrary to popular belief, Dame Dash has been staying pretty busy, what with being out of the limelight and only relevant to the mainstream industry through Jay-Z, you would think he was still soaking up money through the loose ends of Roc-A-Fella. Besides his recent Blackroc project, Dash has also had time to develop the more than respectable Studio DD172, a multi level complex in the Tribeca. DD172 houses an art gallery and several fashion and media offices for several companies among other things. It was where Curren$y shot his latest video, and Center Edge Territory was conceived. The ventures don’t stop there though, here is a little rundown of what’s expected to come:

Moments cannot be manufactured and once passed cannot be recreated. The DD172 space is an artistic epicenter where every passing instant becomes one of consequence and Creative Control is the lens that brings those glaring moments into focus. Creative Control, the brainchild of Directors Coodie and Chike and media mogul Dame Dash is an online media network bringing you original web series and music shot by the artists themselves. The series Sessions at DD172 will be an exhibition of talent caught candidly as they pass through the space curated by Dame Dash. Spotlighting artists like Mos Def, The Black Keys, Zoe Kravitz, and commencing with the release of the Black Roc Project, Creative Control will view the cross section of talent of all genres from every angle.
