This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We will try to bring you at least one a day. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…..

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Jacob Miller who was a major influence on roots reggae back in the 70’s when Bob Marley was in the scene. I talked about this song last year but I think its a great song to play near the beginning of 2010 to really give a good message for the year. This track is called “Forward Ever Backward Never” and truly is a way of thinking that everyone should incorporate into their lives. If you hadn’t thought this way before than 2010 is a perfect time to start. Check out the track below and chill…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by RJD2. I can’t get enough of this guy and this is a perfect time to make a post about him considering the fact that his upcoming album The Colossus should be dropping in a few weeks. I would say since RJD2 first hit the scene there have been quite a few new artists that have tried to dabble in the same type of experimental electronica that RJD2 is famous for but I believe they come up short every time and I cant help but always going back to to some classic RJ tracks. The track I’m bringing to you today is from his album Deadringer and the track is called “The Proxy”. I’ve posted about this album before but I cant help it because almost every track on the album is truly amazing. The track is short but chill nonetheless. So check out the track and relax…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by a group called 10Ft Ganja Plant. That’s right folks that’s their actual name and you couldn’t think of a better name once you have listened to their stuff. They make a lot of great classic dub reggae that’s perfect for a sunny day (regardless of the temperature) to chill out to. These guys hail from New York and have always been quite a mystery to most folks because they are known for not naming their guest artists and just keeping low-key. They have released 4 albums to date and the the song i’m bringing to you today is from their Bass Chalice album and the track is called “Blood Money”. Everybody could use a little more reggae in their life so check out the track and relax….

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. Today’s delivery is brought to you by a few artists. This is actually a mix done by a little known producer that goes by the name of InntimateSound. I found him over on YouTube and he actually doesn’t even have a myspace yet but he’s come up with some sick blends of some of his favorite artists. The song i’m bringing to you today is a mix of the songs “The Light” by Common and “Luv (Modal Soul Remix)” by Nujabes. Nujabes is one of my favorite producers of all time because of the fact that most of his beats would definitely be considered chill and that’s what i’m about. Then you mix in the genius that is Common and you have an amazing track. Check out the track and chill….

I’m not sure how many of you out there make daily agenda’s that you write down but my personal belief is that “make love” should always be on that list. Even if it isn’t accomplished; it should always be striven for. Today’s delivery could help with just that goal and it’s brought to you by none other than Marvin Gaye himself. The track I’m bringing to you today is entitled “After The Dance” and its the instrumental version from the album I Want You which was a pretty big hit album back in the 70’s. This track is truly amazing and it just shows the type of experimentation that Marvin was known for. Check out the track, chill and start getting to those agenda items…

[01.04.2010]Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Brazilian Girls]

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We will try to bring you at least one a day. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…..

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Brazilian Girls. No not the big booty ones from Rio Rio de Janeiro but the band that actually hails from New York City. They are labeled as an electronica dance music group but some of their songs are all over the place with a mix of reggae/downtempo and more. None of the actual people in the group are even from Brazil and there’s only one girl in the band but that’s not important. What is important is they make great music and today i’m actually giving you a double dosage. The first song, “All We Have”, is a pretty chill song and somehow reminds me of a French love song for some reason..plus the lead singer speaks French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian which gets put into some of their songs every so often. The second song, “Pussy”, could be classified as “chill” during certain parts of the song but overall I just like the song and how catchy it is. Plus the song “Pussy” talks about the important things in life you know? Both of these songs are from their first album from 2005 entitled Brazilian Girls. Check out the tracks and chill…
