Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake and jsully of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn’t care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole.

During the 2nd intermission of the Canada v USA Olmypic Men’s Hockey Game, this sundae comes a little late. But hey, priorities right?

This Week we see the return of some crowd favourites. Two Door Cinema Club finds itself a great remix in Jupiter’s able hands, but the real return is Danger. Danger made great waves a couple of years ago with a solid cannon of analog electro goodness and it comes back to us through F.O.O.L.

With a bunch of acts who were hot at the start of this electro wave in 2006 we see New Young Pony Club release new material for the first time in ages – but they are back, making Modular People proud no doubt.

The new commers to pick out of this list are Crizzly and Belzebass who both toss out some solid remixes that I know I’ll be recommending to some local dj clubstars.

Here we (earmilk.com) come across so many tracks and well – it’s hard to come up with meaningful postings for every single track we get. In the interest of full disclosure and in the hopes of supporting those who have taken the time to support us – Here is your grab bag, straight from the teet.

This weeks grab bag comes in the flavour of damn fine vocal mixes – which is at the core of electro if you ask me. Whenever someone asks me “what is electro” I always bring up the remix culture that spawned it. Tepr’s remix of Yelle helped set a stage and mobilize a indie remix culture that grew more aggressive until finally Justice gang bangs la mainstream and all of the college kids caught wind of it.

Oh yeah, for you fellas out there, a post like this will get them jones’n for Miike Snow, The Twelves, Yeasayer (YES) and so many other artists. Artists who run in the same clubs we do – this post my friend.. is an education tool.  Suck it up and drink it down.

The Dutch Don Diablo deals some sick beats. I initially wasn’t that much of a fan, truth me told.

I judged him for rocking the “Don” cap…as my loyalties obviously lie with the Don Rimini… but over the year or so he’s been around and despite his major label signing to Sony Music, I am coming to really enjoy his original productions and see the strong crossover appeal.

With this latest installment we get a first look at what is to come from Don Diablo’s forthcoming ep and the  album to follow (stay tuned for details…)

Never Too Late might not have the grind that you want, but dammit… I feel like a little straight dance would do some good in this over melted world dance world of ours. Cross-over artists shouldn’t get crucified for reaching to a larger audience as long as the soul is still there. Because its a spiritual thing, its a body thing, its a soul thing…

Is this legit? Judge for yourself and be sure to watch out for the E.P/Video dropping later this month.

Mashup Monday – We’re going to melt you faces off with enough mashed up music to make you wanna slap yo’ mama. Earmilk staff itstk and JSully will be bringing you the dopest dope in the mashup world. We’ve been scouring the music lands, and filing through tracks that you enthusiastic readers and musicians have sent us. We’ve found mashups from DJ’s far and wide. We’ve found down-tempo ones. Don Diablo takes on the future classic ‘Youth, Speed, Trouble, Cigarettes’ by French house legends Cassius. The single will be released on November 5th on Cassius Records with additional remixes by Radioslave, The Subs and Reset!. Don Diablo adds extra funk and freshness to the dark & epic monster that is ‘Youth, Speed, Trouble, Cigarettes’ and makes you wish summer had only just begun. This track really does get a bit wild, and Diablo brings it pretty hard. Enjoy.
