[03.11.2010]New Neon Indian – Sleep Paralysist

Author: itstk

Neon Indian

Green Label Sound blessed us with a new track from the 80’s synth god himself, Alan Palomo, the brains behind the bastard child Neon Indian. The track is called “Sleep Paralysist,” it was recorded and produced in collaboration with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear in Brooklyn at Taylor’s elusive musical dungeon, Terrible Studios.

This is Neon Indian’s first new offering since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Psychic Chasms last October. The track is a little more glossy then what we’re regularly accustomed to from Alan, but again its nothing short of amazing and in no way disappoints. Listening to the track however only makes me hurt inside and feen for more.

[10.12.2009]New Moon Soundtrack Leaked Amazingness

Author: itstk

sexy vampire bitches

For all you vampire tweeners out there.. the release of this soundtrack gets you giggling in excitement cause you’re one step closer to drowning yourself in a cesspool of vampires and love. However, this soundtrack is surprisingly pretty amazing. The New Moon Soundtrack features artists such as Lykke Li, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse.. and that’s only a few, all doing tracks exclusively for the movie.  I can only imagine how awful this movie is going to be, but with a soundtrack like this I’m willing to go and watch it with my eyes closed.  The album itself is actually set to be released October 20th, as for the movie.. its due in theaters November 20th.  I have still yet to see Twilight, so if I’m missing anything please give me a heads up but other then that I included a bunch of tracks off the anticipated soundtrack below, so check em out and enjoy:

[09.11.2009]Grizzly Bear – “While You Wait For The Others” [Video]

Author: jsully

Grizzly Bear

Grizzly Bear has a penchant for releasing wild-ass videos. Their last video from “Two Weeks” that was released earlier this year was insane, and this newest one for “While You Wait For The Others” trumps it. I’m never really sure what to say whenever I see videos like this. I will tell you it will show you a cooked pot of weirdness stew containing clocks, pets, hobbies, books, stuffed animals, sports equipment, and fencing. I’m going to go ahead and toss in both videos, that way you can judge which one is more strange. Or you can just flip a quarter. Enjoy.

[06.17.2009]Daniel Rossen – Waterfall (Tribute to Judee Sill)

Author: montrey

Daniel Rossen is guitarist/singer/songwriter who hails from Los Angeles, CA but he is in the Brooklyn-based indie group known as Grizzly Bear. Daniel Rossen is usually associated with the indie scene in New York and he has a great sound. He has recently come out with a cover song for the upcoming tribute album to Judee Sill that will be released this upcoming September 22nd. The tribute album will feature many different artists.

Judee Sill was songwriter and a singer during the 70’s. She only released two albums before dying of a drug overdose in 1979. There was another album released after her death and her legacy lived on. This tribute track is very low-key but could strike multiple tones with your emotions. Also, I’ve included a video of Judee Sill herself. Enjoy.
