[02.02.2010]Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Katchafire]

Author: montrey

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one “chill” track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We will try to bring you at least one a day. We are just your milkmen and I’m here to make a delivery. Chill…..

Today’s delivery is brought to you by one of my favorite reggae groups…Katchafire. The group pretty much started out as a Bob Marley tribute band and we’ve posted about this group before and pretty much all the tracks they produce are instant classics for me. The song i’m bringing to you today is called “Who You With” and its from their album entitled Revival. The reason I’m posting this one today is because I would really like to get feedback from our readers about the topic of the track. My friends and I have argued on whether the song is talking about marijuana or sex/condoms/hooking up. Really need some feedback on this one so if you listen to the track and you appreciate what we do here on the site then please leave a comment on what you think they are talking about. So check out the track,  chill AND comment…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Katchafire. This is a New Zealand based island reggae group. They are known for their island style and their chilled-out tracks. I try to throw in some reggae every now and then since its a big part of my music library now and it should be a big part of yours too. You gotta have a pretty nice subwoofer to really appreciate this song because there are some super low beats in it. The song is called “I Dubb” and its from their latest album entitled Say What You’re Thinking which came out in ‘07. Check out the song and relax…

Today’s delivery is brought to you by Katchafire. They produce island style roots reggae and they hail from New Zealand. I got a chance to see these guys live in Hawai’i and they can really put on a show. All of their music is “chill” so you will be seeing them a lot on the Daily 2%. Their name was inspired by the album entitled Catch A Fire which was made by Bob Marley and The Wailers. Katchafire is one of the chillest bands you’ll ever have the fortune of listening to. The track I’m bringing to you today is called “Get Away”. Such a perfect track title. So sit back and chill……
