Aoki

Robot music dealer and Dim Mak founder Steve Aoki dropped a new video for his track “I’m in the house” featuring Zuper Blahq. I love a good tripped out video, and this one doesn’t disappoint. For those of you who aren’t up on semi-lame but decent enough music, Zuper Blahq is producer and artists Will.i.am’s side project. The song is decent enough, but doesn’t compare to the video. I can honestly say, without the video, the song wouldn’t have been posted. So check it out, and enjoy.

[09.12.2009]AutoErotique – Canadian Electro Vandal Gladiators

Author: electblake

AutoErotique

AutoErotique are from Toronto, and they’re coming in masked through the backdoor. You may have seen them as VND/LSM before but they’ve been rocking the AutoErotique for awhile now.

VND/LSM caught notoriety when Diplo dropped their Rhianna remix on a session he created for Pitchfork (not bad huh?), they also did a mean remix of some Beyoncé action with “UH OH!” which I always enjoyed – Its a little dated now because well, its Beyonce but it still bang, bang, bangs – do what the song said.

I’ve seen them around town and haven’t herd too many compromising stories, which is good and bad but I will tell you one thing – When these young guys get going they still paint the walls with blood and sweat.

Now, with AutoErotique we hear what seems to be sweeping the electro nation. Young artists who’s quick and dirty remixes are giving way for full featured and luscious original productions. From the bottom up these guys come and it is truly a great sight to see their name on the left side of some new tracks :)

[08.07.2009]Bloody Beetroots – “Awesome” (ft. The Cool Kids)

Author: jsully

Bloody Beetroots

Close your eyes and imagine, if you will, the bastard son of the Misfits and Daft Punk. As gruesome as the act of conception may appear, the union would generate the most grandiose of offspring. A formidable force, not unlike The Bloody Beetroots.

That’s the first line from The Bloody Beetroots myspace page. I can totally tell how he got this too. Their stage performances are a force to be reckoned with, and they have been playing world wide tours since…forever. So I said he and they in that sentence, and it probably doesn’t make much sense. Let me explain:

Bloody Beetroots is the name under which producer and dj Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo operates. In the Beetroots live sets and dj sets, Sir Bob avails himself of the services of Tommy Tea.

In 2007, Bob got signed to the U.S. label, Dim Mak, the brainchild of Steve Aoki. The first releases were the EP’s Rombo (2008), Cornelius (2008) and Warp Feat. Steve Aoki (2009). Warp and Cornelius made it into the iTunes Top Ten Albums Chart. Rifo and Aoki have recently formed a hardcore punk band called Rifoki, produced by Giulio Favero of Teatro Degli Orrori, due for release in 2010).

Give it a run on this awesome (ha) track. The Cool Kids are dope too, and this whole thing just gives off that “oh shit” smell…but in a good way. Enjoy.
