Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake and jsully ofEarmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn’t care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. The xx came through Toronto this week and got a chance to sit down with the home-team AUX TV and talk about their “universally adored” debut album xx.

I’m sure you’ve been keeping up to date with whats happening with The xx, the London quartet featuring the lead vocals of the sexy sonic seductress Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim (who also play lead guitar and bass guitar respectively). Backing up these shadowy figure is Baria Qureshi (keyboards and guitar) and Jamie Smith (beats, MPC sampler).

First plays came a month ago or so, and I keep on going back for more. ‘Shelter‘ just never seems to get old as it brings back the colour of older Portishead with the flavour of dark cup of java. This track is only the glimmering tip of what The xx is.
