Wincing the Night Away was the last time we’d heard anything from Portland-based indie-pop band The Shins. After a five-year silence, the band is finally coming back into the spotlight with plans to release their fourth studio album Port of Morrow via Columbia and frontman James Mercer’s Aural Apothecary sometime in March. On Jan. 9, the Shins released, “Simple Song”, the first track off the forthcoming album via the band’s mailing list.
