Looking for a change of pace? A fresh mix of tunes for the road? Look no further because EARMILK has you covered with a new monthly mixtape series, aptly titled Step Fresh. The mix, which is mixed and hosted by DJ Steve Martin and the folks at Refix Mechanics, is aimed primarily at delivering a varied mix of ear pleasing tunes. DJ Steve Martin is currently in California where he already delivers a weekly mix to the listening masses of LA through his "My Side of the City" radio show which you can hear Saturdays on KPFK from Midnight til 2 AM in LA or online.

While EARMILK has several features which showcase a variety of music genres, we are presently without a feature that solely showcases hip hop music. One of Step Fresh many purposes is to fill a noticeable void by providing some urban oriented sounds in the form of a handy monthly mix.

For the inaugural installment of Step Fresh DJ Martin serves up an eclectic cornucopia of  music spanning several genres. Martin seamlessly weaves the sounds of electro, hip hop and downtempo to create a diverse mix of tracks. Whether you're in need of some tunes to aid you in an extended study session or a ready-made mix to have on the go, Step Fresh has just what you're looking for.

This initial mix features  hip hop infused electronic cuts from  Prefuse 73, sucka free hip hop from the likes of AZ, Hieroglyphics & Souls of Mischief and UK hip hop acts Braintax and Jehst to ambient electronic music from Populous and Meem. This first installment of SF sets the tone for future mixes by offering up a palatable selection of sounds that can be appreciated by both diehard and casual fans of hip hop music. So, cut the stress and step fresh with some tunes guaranteed to put you in the right mood  as you embark on an adventure in broad beat mixing stylos, electronics, acoustics, boom baps & everything in between.
