Devendra Banhart, who was once as close to a household name as the indie folk realm allows, seems to be coming out of hibernation. The Venezuelan artist has been relatively quiet since his 2009 album What Will We Be, but recently announced the release of a new album for Nonesuch Records titled Mala for March 12, 2013. In anticipation of the album release, he leaves his listeners with "Für Hildegard von Bingen", which is about a Catholic saint who decides to denounce her sainthood in hopes of becoming a Video Jockey (VJ) for MTV. All strangeness aside, the track is a pleasant listen with relaxing supporting tones to Banhart’s vocals. Take a listen or download yourself below.
