Penthouse Music's Skizzy Mars is slowly shedding his mysterious persona as he grabs the attention of fans and some industry legends. Never one for excessive videos or photos, Skizzy's intent thus far has been to allow the music to speak rather than creating an image for himself. This approach worked! His latest mixtape Phases was greeted with nothing but praise by those that heard it.
A native of Manhattan, he saw a very different New York upbringing than other rappers from the big apple and through this he has been able to create his own lane. His latest video is for the lead song on the mixtape "Cheer Up." The song has Skizzy reminiscing on his early days in music as well as comforting a girlfriend who doesn't want him to hit the road. The usual woes of a young artist on the cusp of major success. Production for this comes at the hands of Marshall Borden. What makes this release that much better is Diddy tweeting it which helped bring a wave of new people to check out the young artists music.
