There’s a certain kind of pop record that sneaks up on you- not with bombast, but with shimmer, heart, and a voice that feels like it’s telling you a secret. "at some point in time…", the latest EP from Swedish artist Diana Pilquist, is one of those records. Steeped in nostalgia yet rooted in the present, it balances glossy synth-pop textures with lyrics that are unflinchingly candid, offering soundtracks for both late-night reflection and sunlit walks.
The standout here for me is “Lost Feelings for You,” a track that captures Pilquist at her most magnetic. It opens with airy guitar and warm synth chords, lulling you into a sense of softness before she delivers the chorus with a sly smile: “But I am happy I lost feelings, ‘cause you’re really not that cool.” That twist, turning heartbreak into empowerment, is carried by buoyant percussion, soaring harmonies, and a stripped bridge where her vocal runs cut right to the bone. It’s pop with both bite and vulnerability, the kind that stays with you long after the last note fades.
“My second EP at some point in time… is a heartfelt and honest project about the different nuances of life,” Pilquist says. “I hope this EP touches many people’s hearts” Across its songs, she makes good on that promise- reflecting on growth, love, and the in-between moments with warmth and wit. With this release, Pilquist steps confidently into her own lane, proving herself as a rising voice in modern pop worth paying attention to.
