Parallelle release analog-driven album '11th Avenue' with North American tour dates

French duo Parallelle has released their new album 11th Avenue, an 11-track collection that arrives via their Lisbon-based label FOLDER alongside the announcement of an extensive North American tour. The release showcases the brothers' signature blend of analog warmth and live musicianship, evoking the moody elegance of '80s New York jazz lounges with a distinct club music twist.

11th Avenue intertwines jazz, soul, and classic house with modern grooves designed for both intimate live settings and large festival stages. The album features collaborations with Fulltone, Sacks, Dino Lenny, Allysha Joy, Nicolas Masseyeff, and more, demonstrating the duo's versatile approach to electronic music production.

Led by "The Collab" with Dino Lenny, the album features a funk-laced gem that channels early-2000s French house energy with a gritty distorted bass line played by Alessandro Mazzieri. The track emerged from spontaneous moments that define Parallelle's creative process.

"Dino is a man who shares our very questionable sense of humor," Parallelle explains. "We were supposed to drive together to Tomorrowland Winter, but got stuck in traffic. Five minutes in, between jokes and ridiculous stories, we realized we had the same twisted humor, and the ride turned from terrible to terrific. When we later asked him to make a track, he went full Dino mode and re-recorded our entire phone conversation, impersonating our French accent."

Other standout tracks include "Tastes like gold," built from fluid basslines, fine-grained percussion, and synths with JoLy's dusky vocals creating subtle emotional charge. "Searching for the groove" features syncopated percussion nodding to 2-step with falsetto vocals and live touches of warm keys and saxophone, while "Mind, body & soul" delivers a futuristic take on dubby tech house accompanied by Allysha Joy's vocals.

The album's analog-first production approach emphasizes the imperfect beauty of live instrumentation, combining groovy beats with jazzy saxophone and trumpet interplay alongside vocals from Thomas and collaborators, resulting in tones that feel both classic and contemporary.

Following past performances at Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, and Pacha Ibiza, Parallelle will embark on an international tour blending hybrid DJ sets and live musicianship. The duo recently played to over 20,000 people in Lisbon, marking a new high point in their journey as performers. Upcoming dates span London, New York City, Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more through December.

Further blurring lines between sound and style, Parallelle has partnered with high-end streetwear brand Ciaran for a capsule collection of limited-edition 11th Avenue merchandise that launched during ADE in October.

11th Avenue is available now on all streaming platforms, with vinyl release following later this month.
